Two weeks in Kampala and Gulu: Arxia takes AI acceleration to Uganda's business and public ecosystem
By Carlos Parker · Head of International Business

Uganda has what any innovation agenda needs: a dynamic business environment, an appetite to expand, and fertile ground for technology. In March, Arxia went to see that potential up close.
A two-week mission
Arxia colleagues Carlos Parker and Grace Labong spent two weeks in Kampala and Gulu meeting the organisations that shape the country's economy: government institutions, associations, banks, universities, and BPO and IT companies. Each conversation started from the same question: how do you get past the AI "hype and noise" and turn it into direct, fast results for your operations?
A BPO pioneer adapting to the AI era
One of those conversations was with Exquisite Solution Limited, one of the companies that pioneered the business process outsourcing industry in Uganda. Having built that industry, they are now among the first to adapt BPO services to the AI era — rethinking how work is delivered when agents can take on part of the process.

From conversations to practical work
The mission produced strong feedback and practical work started straight away with several clients. It also laid the ground for what followed in the weeks after: AI Ignite workshops in Kampala and a growing pipeline of Ugandan organisations moving into Arxia's AI Acceleration Program.
Arxia has a local presence in Uganda and a clear view of the market's potential. The plan is to keep pushing AI-operationalisation support in every direction the ecosystem is ready to go.
