Registries, data exchange and a service portal: Arxia supports the next phase of Uganda's digital public services

By Carlos Parker · Head of International Business

Daniel Homorodean of Arxia in Kampala, Uganda.

Delivering public services digitally takes three things working together: data the state can trust, a way for institutions to share it, and a single front door for citizens.

A week in Kampala

Arxia CEO Daniel Homorodean spent a week in Kampala supporting the advancement of digital services in Uganda. The focus was on planning the future of three building blocks:

  • Authoritative data registries: the single sources of truth for the information public services depend on.
  • A data exchange hub: so institutions can share data securely instead of asking citizens for it again and again.
  • A service portal: one place where citizens and businesses access public services.

Why the trio matters

Each component is useful alone. Together, they are what makes digital execution and delivery of public services possible. This approach runs through Arxia's DPI work, from regional data standards in the Great Lakes region to national interoperability in Cambodia: get the data and the connections right, and services can be built on top with confidence.
